Of seal folk and old tales
They are known as selkies, silkies, selky. They are beings from the Celtic and Norse folklore, who dwell in the liminal space between land and ocean, human and beast, reality and myth.

In the water, they are seals, on land, they shed their skin and take on human form. Their legend has endured throughout the years and their secret safely kept among small coastal and island communities across Ireland and Scotland.

Selky is inspired by the transitional nature and allure of a myth. Just like the ocean defines the shore and fables define reality, we create silhouettes in the wood outlined by their very own existence. And our jewellery tells a tale or two to the one who wears it.
